Detailed Itinerary of Ladakh
Day 0 :
- Rendezvous at the common pick up point for the trip
- Depart from Delhi in evening.
- Overnight journey in Volvo/ AC Tempo Traveller.
Day 1:
- Reach Manali and check-in to the hotel.
- Today is an acclimatization day as we start our journey to Himalayas from tomorrow. The travellers are free to explore the town of Manali but are adviced to not exert themselves too much. Hidimba temple, local market, cafe hoping in old Manali are fewof the things that you can explore in Manali.
- Overnight stay in Manali.
Day 2:
- We start from Manali after breakfast and after crossing Marhi, we reach Rohtang pass in about 2 hrs. Continue your journey for Jispa crossing Keylong.
- Reach Jispa by afternoon, which is an overnight stay.
- After freshen up, gather for a tea/coffee, followed by Bonfire and Dinner.
Day 3:
- Start early morning after breakfast, to stamp on the grounds of heaven on Earth called as Leh.
- Enroute you will come across beautiful Landscapes of Baralancha-la, Tanglangla, Moore Planes and Upshi, the routemost loved by Shutterbug community.
- If you are sleeping while travelling on this route means you are missing the most precious times of your life (This is the longest route on the Journey, you are suggested to start early and reach by evening) Overnight at Leh.
Day 4:
- Today is our first morning in Leh, a place about which you definitely have heard a lot and always dreamt about. We gather at the breakfast table and later start for the Leh sightseeing tour. We start our tour by visiting Shey Palace followed by Thiksey monastery.
- Later move towards the confluence of Indus and Zanskar via Magnetic hill and Pathar sahib Gurudwara. If time permits, you can also have Langar at the Gurudwara itself.
- Hall of fame and Shanti Stupa later in the evening. Return to Hotel.
- Overnight stay at Leh.
Day 5:
- After breakfast move towards highest motorable road of the world, KhardungLa Pass. Have a cup of tea there, get yourself clicked with the Khardungla signboard by BRO and proceed towards Nubra valley covering Deskit monastery enroute.
- You can also do ATV ride in Nubra, depending on the available time (personal expense).
- Check-in at hotel/camp, freshen up and later you can have a double hump Bactrians camel ride.
- Don’t forget to click this unique mammal, found in cold desert. It was once used to carry the trade material on the silk route.
- Overnight at Nubra camps/Hotel.
Day 6:
- After breakfast, proceed towards Shyo valley and then continue further till Pangong Tso, probably the most scenic place during the whole journey.
- Pangong lake is one of the most beautiful and scenic high-altitude saltwater lakes. The beauty of this is such that various bollywood movies have been shot around this lake.
- Check in to campsite and later go for a stroll around pangong lake in the evening. – Overnight at camps in Pangong.
Day 7:
- After breakfast, check out from camps for the return journey to Leh. Enroute visit Hemis Monastery and 3- Idiots school.
- Return to Leh by evening. Explore the local market and cafes in the evening.
- Overnight at Leh.
Day 8:
- After breakfast at hotel, you are advised to depart from by 8:00 am to reach Jispa in due time.
- Enroute you will come across Upshi, Tanglangla, Moore Plains, Sparchu, Baralacha-la, before finally arriving at Sarchu/Keylong.
Day 9:
- After early breakfast, start your journey to Manali from Keylong, (the administrative centre of Lahaul and Spiti district); snow bedded Rohtang La.
- Arrival at Manali by 4pm, tentatively.
- For guests opting for Delhi to Delhi package, we will be boarding the return volvo to Delhi. The route is most loved by shutterbug community, for the amazing snow cladded landscapes and tortuous roads, one come across.
Day 10:
- Reach back by next morning with lots of amazing memories to remember for a lifetime.
By Flight
The Kushok Bakula Rimpochee Airport is the nearest airport which is well connected to major airports in the country, including the Delhi airport. From where, the city centre of Leh is around 9 kilometres away. You can take taxi or cab from outside the airport.
By Train
You cannot get Ladakh directly by train because there is no Railway station in Ladakh. The closest train station from Ladakh is Jammu which is well connected to rest of country. From here, you can take taxi or bus to reach Ladakh.
By Bus
You can get Ladakh via road by the two main highways. One is the Manali – Leh Highway, having 473 kilometres distance from Manali. The other highway is Srinagar – Leh Highway, having a 434 kilometres distance between them.
