Hampta Pass with Chandratal

Nestled in the laps of the Himalayas, Kereri Lake is a perfect destination for a weekend trek. It is a small glacial lake at height of approximately 9620 feet above sea level where you feel natural beauty, tranquil environs and clean air.

Kareri Lake is formed by melted snow water from Minkiani Peak that serves as the primary source of the lake. The lake gets its name after the Kareri village, through which it flows. Due to surrounding forest with lake in its centre makes it perfect spot for migration of several rare species birds every year, so it is paradise for bird lovers.

Crystal clear water melting from the glaciers surrounded by luxuriantly growing grass meadows, scenic hamlets, dense forests playing their songs adds charm to these magnificent hidden gems of Himalayas whose beauty can only be experienced by their own, no words or picture illustrate it.

The Kareri Lake trek is an easy level trek which required no mountaineering skills except walking with ease. It can be completed easily by a healthy person of any age group which have total distance of 15-17 km on one side.
