Bir is not directly connected to flight or rail.  Ahju railway station is the nearest railway station, which situated is only 3 km far from Bir. It lies on the narrow-gauge line, so it have only 4-5 trains from Pathankot.

 There is no direct flight for city of Bir. Kangra Airport is the nearest airport to Bir Billing, which is 67.6 km. far from here. You can easily get taxi or bus from here.

  Although, there are Other international airports close to Bir such as Chandigarh (290 km), Amritsar airport (260 km) and New Delhi (520 km).

How to reach Bir by Bus

How To Reach Kheerganga

There are three different ways to get Kheerganga, however mostly people prefer by train or by road.

By Road: You can plan your trip by your own vehicle or by bus. Kasol is around 515 kilometers away from Delhi that takes about 10-12 hours to reach here, dependin. On the other hand, you can take an ordinary or volvo bus from ISBT Kashmere Gate for Bhuntar from where you can take a local bus to Barshaini which is the nearest place to Kheerganga.

By Rail: The most economical way to reach Kheerganga is by rail. Pathankot Railway Station is the nearest station from where you can hire a taxi or take a bus to Kasol.

By Air: The closest airport is located to Kheerganga is Bhuntar Airport which is about 50 km far away from here. From there, you can take a direct taxi or local bus for Barshaini.

Spiti Valley Road Status

In May 2020, the road to Spiti valley is open from Shimla side and closed from Manali side. If you want to travel to Spiti in the near future, and until June, you have to get Kaza from Shimla side and return the same way. Currently, it is not possible to take the Manali route as it has blocked due to heavy snowfall.

Shimla to Spiti Valley Road Status

The road from Shimla to Spiti Valley actually remains open around the year. There could be temporary closure in the winter season if there is avalanches or heavy snowfall anywhere on the route.

However, the authorities clear the snow just as soon as possible, they able to restore the connectivity. So via Shimla Route, you can visit Spiti valley in any month of the year.

BY Road

Kasol is well-connected to Northen India with the help of well-developed network of roadways. There are many buses connect Kasol with some major tourist destinations like Solan, Dharamsala, Kangra and Shimla. 

All the buses from Chandigarh/Delhi to Kullu/Manali have a halt in Bhuntar from where you take direct bus to Manikaran. Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) runs regular buses between Kasol and neighbouring states such as Delhi, Punjab and Haryana. By Train

The nearest railway station to kasol is Jogindernagar Station which is about 144 Kms from kasol. It lies on narrow gauge rail line, so that it’s not connected to major cities of India.  You can try the toy train from Pathankot (Punjab) to jogindernagar(Himachal Pradesh)but only if you have a lot of leisure time to burn.

 The nearest major railway station to Kasol is Pathankot that situated at a distance of 150 km from Kasol. Trains such as Andaman Express, Sarvodaya Express, Himsagar Express and Ten Jammu Express connects Pathankot with some major cities. From Pathankot, you can book taxi or take a direct bus to Kasol.

 Although, you can also use Chandigarh Railway Station to reach Kasol which is 310 km away.

By Air

The nearest airport to Kasol is Kullu Manali airport, Bhuntar, which is at a distance of around 32kms from Kasol. From Bhuntar airport, you can hire a taxi to Kasol. However, it is advisable to take a bus because it will cost you a ticket of Rs30-50 only while a taxi fare may be upto Rs500.

There are daily flights to Bhuntar airport with three neighbouring cities namely, Shimla, Delhi and Pathankot that are well connected with the rest of the country.

 Tabo Monastery

Tabo village is situated 37 km from city center and for popular for Buddhist monasteries – Sherlang, Duang, Chamba, Chibbo, Domlang Gompas, regarded by many as only next to the Thelong Gompa in Tibet.

Suraj Tal

Situated about 20km from Kaza, this Komic village is located at 18,000ft above sea level. It is the best offbeat places to visit in Himachal Pradesh that is famous for the world’s highest village connected with a road.
